WWII German used FN Hi Power by vonmeer WWII German used FN Hi Power by vonmeer
I have a Nazi FN-Browning Hi-Power (It has waffenmarks a'plenty)
Serial Number 384***
It' has the eagle and swastika and what looks like walnut handles. FABRIQUE NATIONALE D'ARMES DE GUERRE HERSTAL BELGIQUE
BROWNINGS PATENT DEPOSE

Yes I'm putting up German captured weapons, as thats what most soldiers in Montana brought home. Also yes the extended magazine is modern and not of the WWII period but is cool and is fun to shoot with.

I have one of these war guns, too.  Someone put a hard chrome finish on it without properly repairing some of the pits and bad spots in the steel first, so it looks pretty rough.  Was this redone in Cerakote?  If I can remove the chrome on mine, I'm going to fill in the bad spots but I'll have to Cerakote it or the repairs will show through most other coatings.  The chrome is so heavy that it obscures some of the finer proof marks and causes some friction in the internals, too.  I had a newer MKIII but I didn't like it nearly as much as I like my battered old one.

Some police units use the high power, but historically Americans don't respect the 9mm as it has poor stopping power compared to the .45.

Only since the hollow point have Americans warmed up to the 9mm.

I have a question, why did the US army choose a 9mm beretta 92 instead of asking Beretta to make a .45 version of beretta 92?

Because NATO demanded we switch to 9mm like our nato allies. Our Special Forces and Marines still get .45s as without hollowpoints (outlawed by military forces) the 9mm is pretty ineffective in jhp.

Still, have you ever heard of the Swedish M39B bullet AKA "cop killer"?
